I don't believe what NHK says (continued)

I would like to continue to write my thinking about NHK, but I don't think I can do that right now because I am too busy to do that.

In the winter on 2005, I saw so many times that NHK criticized Asahi-Shimbun during their news program. The news anchor said as if Asahi Shimbun's report should have been falsifies. Apparently NHK tried dismissing the allegations by Asahi shimbun that NHK were threatened by politicians and changed their program to obey politicians' demands. I remember that Asahi-Shimbun was not one sided for this issue on their paper, but NHK was totally one sided and try to utilize their TV program to deluge Japanese people.

At that time, I thought that it was not the thing that mass media do in a free society, democratic country. What NHK did was sheer ugly, totally unacceptable. Are we living in dictatorship country? To try to prevail false information by using strong power as a mega mass media, it perfectly seems to be the same as what radio stations and newspapers had been doing during Sino-Japan War and The Second World War. They had released so many phony "successful battles" announced by Imperial Forced Headquarter (Dai-hon'ei).

After that, I just stopped watching NHK TV and listening to NHK radio programs. I just thought that I should try to get more information from other than NHK, in order no to be cheated by them. So I don't know much about what they are broadcasting in recent years, but I feel that there is one thing that we Japanese citizens have to pay attention to what NHK is doing.

It is the anti-North Korea campaign by NHK. I think that abductions of Japanese citizens by that country should never be acceptable. And missile or rocket technology development of that country might be able to be threats for Japanese people. But what NHK is doing over and over and over again just seems to be extraordinarily crazy. What NHK wants to do by that? They want Japanese people' opinion monolithic that does not allow diversity for the freedom of thought?

It is just my guess but saying other countries are evils such that rational explanations are impossible may raise people's patriotism amid declining of nations’ power. Is that what NHK wants to do through anti-North Korea campaign they are doing now? Let's think that dismissing other country would make our country seem more in justice. Had we seen the similar situation in the Japanese history? To me, what NHK is doing has a similarity with media coverage during Sino-Japan War back to 1937 or so.

Do they recognize that? Probably not. It makes me worry about Japan's future.
