The building was used to be painted in white. If it were still white, it would be easier to find the building.
The building used to be the headquater of Japanese Imperial Navy in Shanghai. A part of the building is being used by People's Liberation Army, but the most of it is occupied by stores and restaurants now.
The board says the name of "jiudian" which is liqour shop in Chinese characters but means "Hotel". I wondered whether people want to stay the night in the building or not if they knew the history of it.
Behind the building, there is a plate which tells you the history of this building. I think it is difficult to find there is this kind of thing.
I cannot read Chinese but can guess the meanings of the statements by looking these characters.
I coincedentally found this, but don't know much about it.
