Japanese Rightists are very Happy with a Blog Post written by an ignorant Chinese about Nanjing Massacre

Yahoo Japan picked up a blog post that was written by a Chinese (thought to be). Its title is "During Nanjing Massacre, Where the Chinese Forces were and what were they doing?"(#1)". Apparently, the Chinese doesn't know history of his/her country. And the post resulted in great joy of Japanese rightists because it is misleading about Nanjing Massacre. The Massacre happened in December 1937 and lasted several months in and around then-Capital of Republic of China. Japanese soldiers killed a huge number of Chinese, not only prisoners of war but civilian-clothed men. And Japanese soldiers raped so many Chinese women while stealing foods and properties from Chinese houses. It was a criminal act by the Japanese Imperial Forces during Sino-Japan War and World War Two(1937-1945).

But to explain the massacre is not the purpose of today's post. Let me just go back to the blog post appeared on Yahoo Japan on May 22nd, 2009 with a credit that the original source was distributed by Searchina on May 22nd at 02:11 Since I don't have time to translate whole the post into English, I am going to write a little part of it as below.

(quote and abbreviation)
I got a question when I was eating with an American friend.
"Chinese say that Japanese killed a huge number of Chinese in Nanjing Massacre. They say that the massacre had continued two to three months, though, where the Chinese Forces were at that time? Wherever they were, they could come to the city during the two months ( to fight for their citizens). It was said that there were only five thousands Japanese soldiers , why didn't the Chinese Forces defend citizens of Nanking?"
That was the question I got. I was surprised and lost a word to say.
(snip)
I thought that was a good question, so I said I was going back, making research, and answering through e-mails. What I have got to know by some materials was that the number of the Japanese soldiers was not five thousands but 60,000 and many people in Nanjing were traitors. The question from my friend brought me confusion. I searched by Google, I couldn't find anything. There is nothing that mentions neither where Chinese Forces were nor what they were doing. How should I answer to my friend?
(the end of quote and abbreviation)

Some differences are included in the quotation above, because the original post is written in Chinese, translated in Japanese by someone, edited by Mr. 畠山栄, and then translated in English by me. As the Chinese blogger admitted, five thousand were not correct for number of Japanese soldiers. It seems that the number mistakenly came from the number that Japanese soldiers stationed in Beijing before Lú Gōu Qiáo Incident on July 7th, 1937(#2) as pointed out by someone on someone's blog (sorry I forgot where it was). Anyway, for the question "Where were the Chinese Forces?", Mr. inti-sol wrote his answer on his blog on Rakuten Blog with title "Okimari no Nanking Daigaykusatsu Hiteiron" on May 23rd, 2008(#3). According to Mr.inti-sol, there might have been 100,000 Chinese soldiers in Nanking before Japanese Forced seized the city, some of them could get out of the city but most were killed. On the other, the number 60,000 of Japanese soldiers is not correct, there should have been 100,000 Japanese soldiers who were dispatched for the operation. He wrote that it is surprising that there are hundreds of stupid (Japanese) who made comments supporting the comments denying mass deployment of Japanese Forces to Nanjing.

Maybe a little explanation is needed here. Since the ignorant Chinese post was appeared on Yahoo Japan, so many Japanese have written comments on that page. As of today, May 31st, 765 persons left 2989 comments. Most of them are saying as if there was no massacre caused by Japanese soldiers. But there are so many evidences and records that Imperial Japanese Forces conducted mass killings of POWs and citizens on the way to Nanjing and after occupying the city in Sino-Japan War. No one can deny it. Is seems that the innocence of a Chinese was utilized by some disgraceful Japanese. I think that it is a kind of typical examples that if you are ignorant, even a lie sounds plausible.
